Shhh....No politics here!!!

I happened to visit a village near vellore where in few of the homes had no proper electricity, no proper food; water was contaminated, and more. But one thing which I could see in almost all the homes was a small television with "Tamil Nadu Arasal Vazhanga Pattadhu" written in blue. And every home had a cable connection with a few channels in which Kalaignar TV was compulsorily present.

A kind lady offered us tea as we came from far far away(from Chennai). As I was waiting for it, a small kid came home from school, threw his bag and grabbed the remote control. He tuned to 'Kalaignar Music' (am not sure about the name of the channel) and started dancing for Chimpoo's 'Kutti pisase' song. Heights!

I asked him when he will do his homework. He gave me a list of TV programs after which he said he will eat and sleep and will do homework the next day morning. This is 'India Tomorrow' (at least in villages) for us. But one appreciable aspect was every family had a 'TV' of their own and the ladies had some entertainment rather than gossipping with neighbours all time.

Cheap Entertainment is sold at a cheaper cost. Back bones of families and tomorrow's citizens are kept busy in their foolish channel programs and useless homeworks.

Enough to keep everyone in innocence and behold the throne Unquestionably !!!

100%

Last week I was travelling in an auto, throughout my journey the auto-driver kept complaining abt the govt. he said "they asked us to put the electronic meter.so we put it spending 4K.Now they have still not brought in a rule to follow the meter charge. We are poor people and only we know how we arranged the money"

I felt bad for him.

I think you must stand corrected. Nowadays, almost every bit of news or info people get is available on TV. After a point, the kid will get bored of the same old songs playing and will switch to other channels.

The other option, of curbing the TV-addiction experience is worse. Believe me. Nothing can make a kid so disgusted with life. Trust me. I know. :)

Sirpy, i understand how far tv has played a role in your life. Cause it has done the same thing in my life too. For that matter every child will be addicted to tv. And at that age nothing wrong in watching. My only concern was how long will kids be addicted to these masala songs and movies. Maybe i was addicted when i was a kid. But i don want my kid to keep on watching these good for nothing masala tamil songs.in that village also there was no other channel relayed except for kalaignar tv.
